        Before industrialization in japan the basis of Japanese economy were under agriculture as they engaged on intensive cultivation of rice where by peasant of Japan derived rice as tax and themselves consumed dry land agricultural product as wheat or barley but after the improvement technology in 1603 allowed peasants to grow irrigated rice for themselves and for markets also the increase in rice verities in these year was tremendous.Agriculture economy ensured availability of raw materials, capital and facilitated development of science and technology which played vital role to the development of industries in Japan. Industrialization in Japan started to show progress during the meiji period,where by meiji era was 44 years period of Japan’s history from 1868 to 1912 when the country was under the rule of great emperor Mutsuhito. Japanese derived industrialization from population base 34 million and labour force of some 24 million, more than 70 percent of whom were employed in agriculture sector as Japan economy depended much on Agriculture. At that time Japan had various technology such as ship building technology, discovery of chemical and mining technology. So, the industrialization of Japan was influenced by number of factors as follows; -

    Role played by government, government played great role toward industrialization in japan through difference way such as through demonstration and encouragement where they encouraged investors to invest on industries also the encouraged small-scale units like cotton textile production. Forexample due demonstration in1870s the out put of raw silk were doubled also the government come up with different projects to facilitate industrialization. For example in1907 the Japanese government established the Yawata steel works which lead to emergences of number of private enterprises.So due to the support of government Japan emerged as industrialized state. 

  Role played by agriculture, in Japan agriculture played vital role toward the industrialization since ensured the availability of raw material which was highly demanded for industrialization also through agriculture the Japanese accumulated a lot of capital which was invested on industries by buying modern machine for production. Forexample raw material which was produced in Japan including Tobacco and Sugar Cane which stimulated the need for industrialization in japan.

   Development of infrastructure, during meiji era Japan was highly developed with infrastructure especially transport and communication infrastructure as roads, rail and river improvement but including Docks, harbor and lighthouses and telegraph system and later ship building where by all of these opened domestic and peripheral of Japan to collect raw materials demanded by the industries also played role in searching export markets,also reduced the cost of movement of goods, raw materials and machinery for manufacturing firms. All of these helped Japanese to generate super profit that stimulated the development of industries in Japan hence Japanese industrialization. 

 Foreign assistance, the Japanese industrialization were more influenced by external assistances as Japan assisted in term of technology as imported modern technology from other industrialized nation also assisted in term of raw materials since imported raw material from other nation as USA and China.Foristance the industrial machine was imported at the rate of about 300000 yen per annum to the mid-1880s but for the rest of the period the annul import bill for such  technology averaged at around 12 million yen  alss Japan signed treaties with some of  the major industrialized power in the word as US,Holland,Russia,Britain and France in 1858 which known as Amity and commerce treaty which enabled Japan to inter trade with those countries also Japan import raw cotton from the US were added to China and India  during 1890s.So foreign assign cannot be underestimated toward the development of  Japanese industrialization.In other hand Japanese industrialization brought an impact in the Japan and in the world,so, the following are the impact of Japanese industrialization in the Japan; -

      Stimulated the development of transport and communication system, due to the industrialization in Japan more transport network were  built in order to support the advancement of industries .For example the first rail services would start  in 1872 between Tokyo to Yokohama with new links being opened up in 1874 and 1877 so by the end of the century Rail, network s had spread throughout Japan also government upgrade major  roads in a countries so as to smooth easily transportation of goods. So due to industrialization in Japan transport system was expanded.

    The rapid industrialization of Japan helped to modernize the Japanese army, to the extent it would take on major European power. forexample 1904 Japanese army would inflict a series of defeat on Russia empire also new found confidence to Japan  was in managing world affairs as we would see Japan fought on side of allied power during the first world war also with mounting confidence  in its own industrial might Japan would invade China in 1936.So due to industrialization Japan strengthen his Army.

      Rise of Japan as a major world power, after industrialization Japan become a major power in the world and was able to resist  European colonialization also Japan abolished feudal power structures such as the Samurai and they strengthen their military. For example, in 1904-1905 Japan defeated Russia during Russo Japanese war also continuing with military success engaged in the first word war 1914.so due to its industrialization Japan become major power in the world.

        Generally, the industrialization of Japan brought the world into disasters although it was blessing to Japanese as created employment opportunities to Japanese also improved living standard of Japanese.
